Bowhunting

So, I just thought I would share with everyone a new hobby of mine, that I thought I would never find myself doing. When I first married my husband I new that he was into hunting and that didn't bother me, because a lot of guys in my family love to hunt also. So I thought he would fit in just right! What I didn't know is HOW MUCH he was into hunting. And since we've been married it seems like he is even MORE into it. He would invite me to go with him to help him spot out the animals. I felt like I was pretty good at that Ü And I really enjoyed it a lot, being with him in the mountains ALONE just riding around on our four-wheeler was just awesome to me. (sounds weird I know) He always asked me if it would bother me if he shot an animal when I was with him. I told him I didn't think so, but I couldn't tell him unless I seen it for myself. I know that when we would watch his HUNTING CHANNEL on TV it kinda made me feel bad when an animal would get shot. So in my head I was thinking, well ya, it probably would make me sad. So anyways, last year he invited me to go with him antelope hunting. I was excited to just get away for a while. So I told him ya! I had so much fun with him, getting decked out in camo, ridding around on the four-wheeler, spotting out animals, and sneaking around doing the army crawl. LOL Well, we seen two antelopes pretty close to us so he grabbed his rifle and started shooting at one. He missed twice....Hahahah I couldn't take it anymore, So I told him to give me the gun and I started shooting. Well of course I didn't know how to aim or how to hold a rifle. so after like five shots he told me to give it back! By this time the antelope were gone. I guess my adrenaline took over as much as his did. He was just shocked that I tried shooting at an animal. I've shot a gun before, but not a huge rifle that kicks so hard it almost knocked me over. So then we just rode around and looked for more. To make a long story short, he shot one, and it didn't bother me at all.

So, after the antelope hunt I told him that I wanted to take my hunters safety. Just to kinda learn more about hunting. I wasn't sure that I wanted to get really into it like he was but just to have more understanding about it. So I took my hunters safety class last year and passed! And for Christmas he bought me a Bow and Arrow. We practiced shooting it all the time in our back yard. You wouldn't think so, but it's a lot of fun to shoot a bow.

Anyways,

Saturday August 16th was the first day of the archery hunt. Me, Mont, Jared (my brother) and Tyler (my brother in-law) all went up to Monte Cristo for the weekend. We were going to be hunting out of tree stands. They were all SO excited, me on the other hand I was NERVOUS! So we woke up at 3:45 Saturday morning so we could get ready and hike into our trees stands. The boys could not stop smiling they were so excited! They looked like kids on Christmas morning Ü

I was getting sick to my stomach, thinking about hiking to our tree stands in the DARK and then sitting in the tree stand all by myself for about 5 hours. Mont's tree stand was about half a mile away. I made him buy walkie Talkie's before our hunting trip incase I was getting attacked by a cougar or a bear. So we got ready and headed for the tree stands.......

Can you tell I'm NERVOUS!
I was trying to hide my NERVOUSNESS.

Outside getting ready to leave to go hike. The hike was really not that scary like I thought it would be. I just stayed right on Monts heels the whole time. A couple of times he would stop and I would run right into him. We finally got to my tree stand, Mont helped me get on it and put on my safety harness. Then he left.....I honestly felt so much safer then I did on the ground and wasn't scared AT ALL! I sat there all morning and didn't see nothing, except for some birds. Then after five hours in the tree stand, we went back to camp and then later that evening we went back to our tree stands. We sat there for about four hours and all I seen was a baby elk come in. I know there was more with him, but I couldn't see behind me and I was trying to be quite so that they would come out from behind me, until two gun shots went off and they ran off. There were some DUMB people up their shooting beer cans during the archery hunt. I was so mad! But it was still cool to see a baby Elk.... I wont keep going on and on like I already have. But I just thought that I would post this cause I found out that when you try new things they might just become one of your new favorite hobbies Ü

I look really HOMELY.....LOL

ROY FIREWORKS

After we had a long day at Pineview we decided to have my family over for dinner and to watch the Roy Fireworks. It turned out to be lots of fun. I live in a culdesac so all the kids rode around on their bikes, while the adults ate chinese and just hung out. Here is a picture of Bridger and of course his favorite buddy Boston, I don't know what they're doing. I think the flash from the camera was a little to bright for them.
Me and Bridger watching the fireworks.
Corbin was pulling Bridger and Boston around in a wagon, They loved it, and so did me and Angie.....It kept them out of TROUBLE!

Mont leaned down to kiss me during the fireworks. I didn't even know Angie took this picture. But I thought it was kinda cute! Even though we don't look cute at all.

AT THE LAKE

Me Corbin and Staci on the tube. Corbin was a little scard cause Angie was driving the boat....LOL Just kidding, he just get's a little nervous when we start going fast..which we usually do when Angie is driving Ü
Bridger and Boston sharing a gatorade.

Dallen loved playing in the water, until someone threw seaweed on him, and them he would FLIPOUT!

Tyler, Boston, Dallen, Mont and Bridger....... Ü
Me and Angie was making our 8 year old nephew take pictures of us. We didn't like how we looked in any of them, so we told him to keep taking more......LOL He thought he was pretty cool with a nice camera around his neck.
Me and my boys hanging out on the beach.
Look at this little stud muffin!
